Zeroth Day - 6 march 2005 LA Airport... 05:20PM

Its 06 March 2005... 05:20 PM and I am at the LA airport. 1 more hour before my next flight takes off. I am writing this post on my lotus notes... as I am offline.. This effectively means that by the time this goes online, this would be a historical post... Many of my posts in the next one month would follow the same pattern...
So how has the journey been so far?...Quite eventful actually....(Shash, before you get any ideas.. I have not joined the "high flyer" club yet)
The 16 hour flight from Singapore actually turned out to be a 15 hour flight... the pilot( a certain Mr Singh) seemed to be in a hurry..... and I reached LA on 06 March,03 PM. One hour before I took off from Singapore... talk about gaining time...
Anyway.... in between a 4 course dinner and a 3 course breakfast I managed to finish 3 movies..Ray, Bridget Jones whatever and *****... Its surprising as they actually had some 50-60 movies available..... had a great 6 hour sleep. .. and also managed to finish 3 Chapters of "The Broker"...
I will be breaking out from this narration for a min.. Gotta find a place with a plug point as the laptop battery is running out...
Ok here I am sitting on a floor in the hallway... managed to find a plug point just in time... its surprising that the boarding area did not have any power points..
Continental Airlines(thats what I am taking) just announced that they are looking for ppl to volunteer to give up their seats on this flight... I am not kidding... it seems that they have overbooked the flight and now they have more passengers than the seats... I am in the boarding area and they want volunteers to give up seats and these ppl would be transferred to a flight later in the night...
Noone seems to have volunteered for 2 mins... so now the rules changed.. anyone who does volunteer gets a 250 dollar gift certificate.... it seems to be working as I can see some people approaching the boarding desk...
Well....Lets go back to my original narration.. It seems that most ppl in business class don't talk unless they know each other from before...
There was this Caucasian sitting next to me on the SIN-LA flight... he would have spoken a total of 30 words on the whole flight... all of them to the flight stewardess regarding food... now those are very few words for a 16 hour flight...
Now you would ask how is LA... its big.. trust me... looking out of the window it seemed to extend forever... huge airport... but surprisingly... most transfer from Plane to Airport take place via bus.... I did not see many tubes... Ok There is a lot more to say about the LA airport and the incidents that took place there.. but I gotta rush... Boarding for my flight has started.. and I better get in before they give my seat to someone else...
